I started receiving a message yesterday that says that I’m “about to capture drop frame media from a device that is currently detecting or configured for non drop frame media…” Here are the particulars.:

Using Canon XH-A1 in DV mode set to Drop Frames
    Using DV-NTSC from Easy Setup
AV settings are DV NTSC 48 kh (sequence and capture)
Device control preset is Firewire NTSC
Video playback is Apple Firewire NTSC

When I try to batch capture, it simply won’t now. I’ve tried everything and every combination I can think of. This happened last night, and I was able to continue to make things happen. In working with this new tape (shot exactly the same way), it’s like the settings reverted to the ones I was originally having trouble with, and NOTHING works to Batch Capture.

    What am I doing wrong?

Try cueing up the tape so you are parked on a valid timecode before you open the log and capture window. I have a deck that will default to sending DF info unless there is a tape in there.
