Batch capture doubling up clips
I’m working on getting a program ready for broadcast, and this thing is driving me crazy. I’ve done this a dozen times but this is the first time I’ve had these problems.
OK so I’ve got a multicamera shoot that has been cut in DV50 resolution. I’m going up to HDCAM. After kicking out the sequence via media manager, I have a new project and a new sequence of offline clips. Here’s where the fun starts.
Upon trying to batch capture the clips, FCP begins to give me prompts to rename clips because the names are being shared by other clips. I hit skip and it goes to the next. Since I have something like 500 clips, this is ridiculous. So I try to do one clip at a time. Same problem, but its weird. Here’s some visuals.

Here I’m batching 1 clip from the timeline. Notice the in/out and the clip length of 10 seconds, 5 frames. (Excuse how I mashed everything up so it would fit smaller).
Here I’ve got my batch capture prompt. You’ll notice the media time has doubled, yet I dont have any handles selected.
Here I’m getting the dialog about giving it a new name. You’ll notice the name is really weird to begin with, so I click SKIP (apply to all wont fix it happening over and over 🙁 )
And finally, here’s the final dialog box. You’ll notice the time is back to normal (off 1 frame but I’ll deal with that later). So now it wants to capture normally after that whole mess.Basically it looks like the program wants to double up each clip, which is a pain in the ass and shouldn’t be happening. Any ideas?
