    Hi.

I’ve used media manager to create offline the clips used in a sequence.

I followed Larry Normanns instructions on the Kenstone webpage.

When I try to batch capture all the clips that are offline FCP crashes!

I’ve tried to delete all prefs using FCP rescue, and have copied the bin and sequence to a new project.

I did get a message saying:

    “Additional Items Found”

An Item outside of your current selection has been found to reference media about to be processed during this operation.

If you add this item to your selection, an additional 32GB of space will be required for an additional 00:40:13;22 of media referenced by this item

If you select Continue, this item will not be added to your selection, and it might be taken offline.”

There was another subject on Creative cow with the same message – but there were no answers to the problem what so ever..

Any ideas on what it could be? Is it something I’ve done wrong in media manager?

    Please help!

    Thanks!

I’ve seen this happen with subclips trying to capture the entire source clip (even after managing). There may be a better way but I believe if you duplicate as a new master clip and try to recapture it should capture just the desired section.

You should be able to find the offending clip(s) by changing the view in the browser to show duration in descending order, find which one it wants to capture too much of. Or you can scan through the browser and look for clips with the subclip icon and do the same.

    Hi.

It seems it is the project that is somehow messed up.
I can batch capture in any other project and on to the disc, so that leaves out a couple of options.

The project was done in fcp 4.5 (i think) and then reopened in 5.0.4.

I tried capturing the whole lengths of the clips, but that wont even work. Not even in the original project.

Does enyone even know what the error message is referring to? Is it something I can turn of in item properties of the clips?

I have never seen this message..

I tried duplicating the clips as master clips – but no luck.

If anyone has any other ideas please let me know!

By the way, while doing this I followed the instructions on this page:
    https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/basic_onlining_jordan.html

I hope that’s correct. But it should not have anything to do with it. Since I can’t capture in the original project either.

    Havew a nice weekend everybody!

Since last time I have made some progress – but the only thing that is really helping is if you export a batch list.

I think it has something to do with the project. Don’t ask me why or how. But if you export batch list and open a new project. Import it there and batch capture!
