I put source clip in monitor…set in and out point and click to insert on timeline and ONLY the video appears…no audio (although there is an audio track)

but stranglely if I drag the clip to the timeline, both audio and video are there and the parts marked in and out…

It is just when I click the insert or overlay key that only the video appears on the timeline.

    Thanks for any help

Make sure the ‘toggle take audio and video’ in the right lower corner of the source monitor is on for video and audio.

Thank you for your reply….I do have both video and audio toggled..I believe the problem is that I have not set the target track for the audio….

can you tell me where I set the target track for insertion of audio?

    Many thanks

On the left hand side of the track. The track headers they turn white/light when clicking on the whole area and the corners become round.
