I have been using Final Cut Pro HD to author shows that are mostly stills-based (for National Geographic, who has some good photographs!). I am starting to do shows that now mix stills and some video. While FCP seems to handle everythibg pretty well on a G5 with 3 Gigs of RAM (dual 2G processors), I am wonderring if some sort of graphics card would enhance performance significantly / reduce rendering / etc. Any advice on this and WHICH card to get? I am also starting to use Motion a bit.

Final Cut Pro 4.5 is pretty much tied to the CPU power today, but I would suspect that will change in FCP 5. Also the BIG issue with Motion is the GPU power of the video card.

Get yourself the fastest AGP card you can and you should be set for Tiger – FCP 5 and whever else comes along with it.
