Basic edit, aka trim clips in timeline? remove clips entirely from sequence? audio fixing?
Hi, i need basic help for a few things:
1. how do i trim clips that are already in the sequnce/timeline?
2. how do i remove an entire clip from the sequence?
3. how do i create ambient sound to go under my text insert cards?
4. how do i seperately fix audio on specific clips ie; bring the level up or down so the sequence sounds cohesive?ok, after i figure that out…
1. how do i combine 3 seperate sequences into 1 sequnce?
2. how do i burn this project onto IDVD to work in a real dvd player?I’m sure this is all very basic for most everyone, it’s my first time figuring this out and i need to figure it out quickly! thanks a million!!
oh, one more thing….if i drag my external lacie drive to the trash on my desktop, and then shut off my computer, will my clips still be online when i turn the computer on and start up final cut pro again? my connection wire came loose by accident yesterday and all my captured clips went offline…it was a pain to fix….just want to make sure how to prevent that!!!

I’ll answer the last question. Make sure the drive is connected and mounted on the computer before you launch the application. If you don’t the clips will be offline.
As to all the other questions, maybe someone else can help you, but I can’t teach you how to use the application in a forum message. You could start with the manual, but that’s a bit long, though it does have pretty good search features. There are some books and DVD and other instructional material that will get you up to speed pretty quickly.
