I’m capturing one hour tapes using “now”. As this usually takes about an hour is there a way to work (edit or add logging info on other clips in other bins) while capturing?
Also is there a way to capture the user bits and other info/data from the tape (date shot, exposure…etc.)for each of the clips?
I’m working with HDV at this time.
    Thanks

No… you cannot (shouldn’t) do anything else while capturing. I’m able to have other programs open, but I tend to stay away from anythng that might open a movie or too much CPU work.

As for date shot etc… ALL the meta data is actually brought in, just FCP (and apple) refuse to show it to you. If you open another program to look at the metadata you’ll see it.

I like CatDV (not sure if it works with HDV) to do my capturing and logging.
