    Hi All.

Has anyone had any problems rendering gradients within cinema 4D with camera moves, which cause bad banding that is only visible upon placement into FCP through a broadcast monitor.

I have an object which my camera rotates around, and have produced a floor which reflects coloured lighting to produce my gradient, however so far I have tried gradients using many different colours with limited success. My major issue is with black to white, have not been able to get this to produce an animated gradient. My lighting has full 100 per cent dithering including my render settings also set to a respectable resolution.

I have produced grads within Cinema previously and placed into AVID with no issues….. am I going mad or is there an issues with FCP !!!!!…

If anyone has had this issues previously and has resolved the problem please can you suggest a work flow to fix this issue

    Kind Regards

    The SheepChaser…..

I don’t have FCP but you can often minimize or eliminate this sort of contouring by adding a very subtle layer of noise on top of your render in post.

While I know nothing compared to Adam…Why not apply the noise to only to the gradient? That way your whole image doesn’t get the grain.
