I’ve made a thick ‘cloth nurbs’ that moves, bends and tears as I need, now I want to map separate materials to the back and front faces. The front will be semi trasparent showing the one on the back through a little.

The ‘bake object’ command is greyed out on the cloth nurbs object, and all of it’s sub objects, is there a way of baking this motion, so that I can create the necessary face sub-selections for the relevant materials? Making the cloth nurbs editable looses all the motion.

    With many thanks

Cloth has it’s own caching function, just take a lok at the cloth tags cache tab.

There is another solution to the problem go into Mocca and Cappuccino, select PLA only and select start real time on your cloth object not the nurbs object select point editing mode deselect all, click any where in the frame just make sure you don’t move the cloth at all. Then when your finished delete the cloth tag and do what ever you want, just remember the motion is set now and is very hard to change…

Thats the brilliant thing about the cloth cache. There is the cloth cache tools that allows for easy modification of the cached solution.
