Bad Video Sync – Intensity Pro
I have an Intensity Pro on Early 2008 Mac Pro dual quad 2.8ghz 16gb RAM.
Couple of issues. My SD reference monitor (Sony PVM20M4U) is connected via analog component cables. When I restart my computer the screen behaves like it’s receiving bad video sync–lots of what look like dashes waving all over the screen. (it would say NO SYNC, if it wasn’t receiving a signal, so I’m pretty sure it’s just bad sync) This sync problem goes away only after I launch Final Cut. Is this normal?
Also, when I go to log and capture in FCP via HDMI cable and firewire control, I get the same bad sync image to my analog monitor before, during, and after capture. The capture window onscreen looks fine during capture and the video file is fine. But doesn’t seem like it’s functioning normally.
Just to check, I also get the same bad analog video when I open Blackmagic Media Express.
Does anyone know how to make the bad sync stop? I know it can’t be good for the CRT on my broadcast monitor.
I’ve tried contacting Blackmagic directly, but have yet to receive any kind of response after a couple of weeks and the manual is of little use.
It’s a new system and card and I want to make sure the card is working as it should. Is anyone else experiencing this?
