March 25, 2008 at 8:04 pmMy second system, the one in which 7 and 8 are bad, has no extra codecs like BlackMagic. Both my machines are intel based. Carey, do your keys look bad right away or only when you render? Mine look bad right away.

March 25, 2008 at 10:57 pmMine look bad right away. No improvement on the rendered files, regardless of which codec I render to.
I even went so far as to try to pre-convert the DV50 source material to another codec first, Prores 422, and saw no improvement. My theory is that the codec itself is not interpolating correctly…
I only have firewire support on my DVCPro50 deck or I would have tried capturing another way to see if I could get around the issue. Wish I had the SDI or component options at this point! (then again, that costs about 3k extra and I *shouldn’t* need it , if the software codec is indeed the culprit.

Please pass the word and we’ll get this issue resolved.
