Hi team. Recently purchased a Canon XA10, and being pretty inexperienced all-round and not had time to set it up optimally, I’m getting a lot of very obvious horizontal lines where there’s fast movement. Having read Ken Stone’s blog about the usefulness of iMovie 09 – and reading of others finding it convenient with AVCHD, I decided to use that rather than Final Cut with this footage. However I’m not sure iMovie is the culprit here, because AVCHD footage from another camera is not showing this same problem.

De-interlacing during Quicktime export does nothing.

I do notice that the problem doesn’t show up with stuff I’ve posted on Youtube. Is that just because the lower quality blurs it out, or is there something else in that transcoding process that helps?
