Depending on the Sony camera there are a number of ways to handle proper mic, input, gain settings all dependent on the mic itself, which is why there’s user controllable settings. How it works on another camera may not be relevant. Different camera, different settings. -

October 10, 2015 at 10:34 amFirst of all, just set all your audio levels to ‘auto’, in case you have manually set something wrong. Also, if it’s a Sony camera, make sure that the little mic switch is set to the phantom power position, and the setting is for an external mic. I’m sure you know all this but it’s always best to start with the basics when there are problems. Craig is your man provided to give him all the technical info that he’s asking for.
