I just upgraded two of my machines to Premiere CS4.1.0…I didn’t have any problems before the upgrade but I have a big one now. Both systems no longer capture two channels of stereo audio…they only capture one, which seems to be an odd combination of the two. When I import XDCam video, the systems see that audio just fine…but when I try to capture…I get one channel of audio and it is really messed up. Is anyone else having this problem?

    What hardware are you using?

I am using a Betacam deck running through a Canopus ADVC 500. There are two channels of stereo audio and up until I upgraded I captured two channels of stereo audio. Now suddenly I just get one. I think Adobe is capturing two channels of audio but when I go to drop the file on a timeline, it sees only channel 2. Is there a way to undo the the upgrade? If not, I’m thinking of uninstalling CS4 and then reinstalling it and avoiding the 4.1 upgrade.

I have 4.1…I’d have to dust off the ADVC 500 to test and I won’t have time this week…

The ADVC 500 shows audio on both channels on the face?

Are you certain that there is only one channel of material, or are the channels mixed (old PDX10 problem that I had perennially with Premiere Pro versions forever)

How are your capture settings set?
