Bad Chroma Key Render on Exports?
I’ve noticed recently that a seemingly good chroma key in my Final Cut timeline and even the broadcast exports gets real nasty when exporting to H.264 or WMV for client screeners.
What I’ll see in the exported files is a nice, fuzzy green outline around the subject, looking like the edge feather is too high.
My workaround has been to export into an intermediate codec I know works (like ProRes 422 or NTSC DV), then convert down to H.264 or WMV.
Is this an issue with how FCP renders tracks, or a codec-specific thing?
