    hi i have never used after effects before and i want to know how do i delete a background of a picture so only the person’s face is there. Please give me step by step instruction because i am really new to After effect. i have the CS3 version please help me. 🙁

    Create a mask by using the pen tool. Just outline the face.

    Yes, and the mask will change every frame. That’s called rotoscoping.

    Masking is a fundamental part of compositing. You might want to explore both the manual and the AE for Beginners forum.
