    Hello,

I recently got migrated to an XSAN for Final Cut and all my system settings were transfered from one account to another so I’ve been experiencing some bugginess. Now when every I boot into Final Cut my default background colour is bright green instead of the usual black inbetween my clips. Changing the background in the viewer drop-down menu to white, checkerboard or black has no effect. I’ve searched high and low for this setting and can’t seem to find it, could someone please offer some advice?

    thanks

    Jon

Try trashing the “Final Cut Pro Prof Cache” and “Final Cut Pro Obj Cache” in User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data>.

If that doesn’t work, trash all the prefs.

Thanks so much! Worked like a charm, I need to keep the pref files in mind when I run into glitches like that.

There are at least two programs that make copies of your (working) FCP preferences and allow you to later zap the current ones and restore the saved ones. This can make dealing with the corruption of FCP Preferences much easier to troubleshoot and deal with.

The ones I know of are:
