Hi,
We have about 9TB of Dnx36 media on an isis and we will be shutting down the show and have to remove the media off the isis.
There is a good chance there will be some editing later and so I need to back up the media.I am thinking if I partition a raid 10 system so that it looks the same as our isis workspace layout then I should be able to plug it in to a laptop later on and continue the edit.
1. do others have a better idea then this?2.I am not sure if gigabit ethernet be fast enough to playback dnx36?

If you are editing off the direct attach storage not in a shared environment, there is an additional folder hierarchy that is not supported by the stand alone editor. For standalone, you want the Avid MediaFiles folder at the root level of the drive with the exact path of:
[drive]\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\[numbered folders]
In an ISIS environment, there is an additional older in that path for user/system being used. Now it seems to me that Avid could make standalone MC’s recognize that extra layer and see past that, but that is not the case and you need to move that folder out of the path.

So I would need to change the directory structure after copying from this
[drive]\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\[system.numbered folders]\[xxxx.mxf]and move the mxf files into a numbered folder in this structure
[drive]\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\[numbered folders]\[xxxx.mxf]Then the local MC would rebuild databases and be linked to media?
And from what I can tell this would be true of either a NAS or Direct attached storage (DAS)
Do you think gigabit ethernet would be fast enough to playback dnx36?
