we’re in the middle of a Pananic HVX 400 camera purchase, and looking at wireless units to put on there, this Azden Unit popped up:

obviously, the appeal of fewer moving parts/variables/things on the back of the camera is nice, but i’ve never used an Azden wireless unit. have you folks had good experiences with their products?
any thoughts aobut his one specifically?

I tried out some Azden mics about 10 years ago, and again a few years ago. At that time I didn’t feel that they were a good option. They might have improved, but there are other mics that I have more faith in….namely Sennheiser or Lectrosonics. They cost more but they are worth it.

I have no experience with that unit, but do have an Azden 400UDR Receiver & 41XT UHF Transmitter.
I tend to agree with Peter, that in my experience with this product, it lacked the quality of the Lectrosonics or the Sennheiser. And I use this wireless for less demanding tasks, like say a feed to the boom-op.

I have an Ikegami that has the same slot and wouldn’t put an Azden in it…

Sennheiser makes one that fits the Ike:

They’re very expensive, but perform well..
