hey there, I am sure many have seen Ayoto’s great website. He has many tips for AE effects. I have figured a lot out but I am totally stuck on this one.

I can’t seem to get the card transition under control. I used his settings that he showed, but I still don’t have it working. I am using an .ai file of a logo, but that should not make a diffrence. Can anyone maybe make his directions a little clearer? I would love to get this mastered. It is a great look that can be used lots of ways, but I can’t seem to get the basic understanding.

    thanks!

I’ve been working with some of his stuff too and I can only assume that the language barrier is getting in his way of fully explaining some of this stuff. I’m working with his other card wipe tutorial (#44) and, as in the past, have found that working with my own custom settings helps to understand what he was doing, and add my own touch to his techniques.

I know that’s probably not the answer you were looking for, but by exploring the parameters of the card wipe transition you can achieve what he was going for quite easily. And check out the other card wipe tutorial, it might help iron the first one out.

actually that does help. I did not notice #44 before. I really love his tutorials, becasue I am trying to learn the concept more then copy the effect, but for some reason I just can’t get the hang of the card wipe just yet. I guess that is what is messing me up, not understanding how it works. I will try #44 and maybe that will help. It is fun to figure it out, Once I get it I can run with it and make all sorts of things, but his stuff always baffles me 🙂
