Had to take a few months off to get away from the documentary project.
Tried opening the project file and get the prompt:

“! This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of
    Final Cut”

I’m using the same version of FCP that I created the chapter in
and have not updated the app.

I’ve tried opening previous saves from my multiple save locations
    and from Auto Save folder.

I pray that someone has a workaround.
Way too much work lost, if not.
    HELP!

    Thank you in advance,
    Sherwood

Er….It sounds like your project file is corrupted. If you still have auto save for that project you could launch one of those. Ive never used the auto save files but apparently you can do it, then you just resave. If you dont…you may have to start again, unless someone can correct me on this?

Followed all the instructions from both threads, including the long one.
    Still won’t open.

The only thing I did was the following:
I was working with an editor over a year ago who installed
Soundtrack Pro on my system before I installed FCP.
When I installed FCPro it auto initiated the program with his
    registration from Soundtrack Pro.

Since I didn’t know how to change it and was in a time crunch,
I continued using the install with his serial.

I found a tute on how to update your owner info and did so.
Now FCP has my name and sn#.

The unusual part of this is the other chapters (projects) that I created under the previous name/sn# still open.

    Any ideas????

    Thnx,
    Sherwood
