  Avoiding bloated JPEG files size in Photoshop CS3?

  When I save a PSD file as a jpeg directly from Photoshop and set the compression to smallest size, I get a file size of 123kB. If I copy the same image, paste into Preview and save, I can get file size down to 20 kB. Why the bloat in Photoshop?

  Using OSX 10.6.8, Photoshop CS3

  Any help gratefully received!
