    Hello,
    For anyone out there using the HMX series of Avocent:
    Have you ever had the system give the following errors,
    “Internal Server Error” or
    “Cannot communicate with Management Console”

    BUT, then after 3-5 reboots, the console will work for about 6 hours and then take a dive again and begin to give the same errors?

    If so, what would anyone suggest to do about this? Is it worth fixing Avocent boxes or is this a common problem?

    don’t you have multiple Avocent boxes for the client computers ?
    Switch the “bad” box with a working box and see if the problem transfers.

    Avocent makes the best KVM extenders in the world – of course you should have it fixed. You sent it to Avocent to have this done.

    Thanks, Bob. Yes, I went through quite a bit of due diligence. We had one bad power adapter, and one bad box. But out Management Console went out and is not intermittently not communicating properly with ALL boxes. Thanks for the help, but we have been talking with Avocent. Im just surprised by all of the sudden trouble weve been having and was looking for unspoken known problems that may be a big red flag to switch course. But all in all, got great feedback about the products so we will continue the ship straight ahead!
