avidfx (boris) strange roundtrip behavior
i’ve been experimenting with the avidfx 5.8.3 filter plugin that came with my new media composer software. i really like that it has a “roundtrip” feature which allows me to go directly back into the avid timeline after quitting avidfx without the render/import steps reguired to use after effects with avid.
i haven’t been able to figure out where avidfx is hiding all the project files during the roundtrip. i’m really not comfortable with not knowing where stuff is stored on my system. the avidfx interface is really weird in this regard. if you save the project while in avidfx, it will give you the standard dialogue box for saving. then when you quit avidfx (which is how you “return trip” back into the avid media composer) your changes will not be saved to the timeline!
however, if you don’t use the “save project” in avidfx but just quit, you will be given the option to save. if you click yes, there is no dialogue box but when you return to avid, your timeline is updated. huh?? i’ve looked all over my mac for the project files but they are really well hidden. where are they?
thanks, josh
