Hi, I was editing in Xpress Pro 5.7 quite happily for a few hours when I suddenly clicked something that turned off the realtime encoding. In an attempt to get it back I went into media settings and changed the NVIDIA GEFORCE to OPen GL. It didn’t do anything, so I changed it back. It was then that I noticed that my footage was all jerky. Exactly as if I had put a strobe motion effect on it. I eventually found how to turn back the real time effects so that’s working now.

I have now aborted that project, started a new one and it’s still doing it. It’s 25i PAL project capturing footage from SD Mini-DV tape. When capturing the footage looks fine. On playback from the source or composer window it has that strobe jerky look to it. Makes it almost impossible to edit exactly to frame.

System is an Intel MacPro 2×3 GHZ with 3GB of RAM so should be fine playing this stuff back.

    What else could it be?
