I have a monthly subscription to Media Composer Ultimate. For some reason I had to authenticate upon launch, and I accidentally clicked on media composer/first. After that, every time I try to launch media composer, it gives me an error “you do not have a media composer / first entitlement “

it won’t direct me to the activation options on avid link. When I open avid link, and try to manually activate the license, I get the same error. Please help! I can’t get any work done.

    Hey Annu,

Have you tried to un-install, and then re-install Avid MC?
I would also suggest that you log into your online account to see if by choosing “first”, if Avid has taken that as you cancelling your subscription – although unlikely, worth checking.

Alternatively, you might need to call Avid directly.

Thank you! Actually, another forum told me to press “w” while pressing the media composer icon, and this allowed me to authenticate with avid link. So random… but it worked!

you may have accidentally activated the Media Composer First entitlement instead of the Media Composer Ultimate entitlement. You can try the following steps to fix the issue:<div>
</div><div>Close Media Composer and Avid Link.</div><div>
</div><div>Open Avid Link and navigate to the “My Products” section.</div><div>
</div><div>Click on the “Media Composer Ultimate” product.</div><div>
</div><div>Click on the “Activate” button and follow the prompts to activate the product.</div><div>
</div><div>Once activation is complete, launch Media Composer and check if the issue has been resolved.</div><div>
</div><div>If this does not resolve the issue, you can try contacting Avid support for further assistance</div>
