Currently running Media Composer v2.8 w/Mojo SDI on Mac Pro.. OS 10.4.11.

We’re basically digitizing hundreds of DVCPRO HD tapes via SDI to 14:1 OMF for offline of a network show.

Since they’re shooting some underwater stuff on the EX1 we were going to import the footage directly into AVID for the editors.

I have installed the XDCAM EX clip browser and XDCAM transfer software, exported the underwater footage as MXF (from the clip browser) and tried importing into the AVID… The avid recognizes the footage but won’t play it at all. I can view the footage in FCP and import no probs so I’m thinking it’s an avid issue.

I heard that if I upgrade to OS 10.5 I may be able to see it… is that true? Or do I need to upgrade to media composer v3.5 or v4 for better results? If I upgrade will I have to upgrade my mojo?

I obviously don’t want to mess with what I have right now as we’re digitizing hundreds of tapes per day.

    ANy advice?

Is the footage you are importing HD or SD? If you are running it through clip browser and downconverting and exporting it from there to an SD clip, you may be able to see it.

It also sounds like you’re running on an old vers of MC with only an SD mojo, so if you’re trying to import HD clips, it won’t play back.
