Avid update 3.5.4
Has anyone installed the MC 3.5.4 update that came out last week. Dose it fix the bugs that the Mac 3.5.1 had?

I’ve been running 3.5.4 for 3 weeks now. It seems ok but on shutdown you get AvidMirrorError which disappeared a few version ago but has returned.
I have had a few other problems but no worse than before. Nothing that kills it outright…Paul H -

It was 15 years ago when I was on Media Composer version 4.
Ironicly, it did not have the bug mentioned.

It’s back by popular demand, I gather from the Avid site it seems to effect only HP machines..Paul H

Overall I believe 3.5.4 has been good, but there is a bug with XDCAM EX footage in AMA where video on any layer other than V1 displays an incorrect ‘Media Offline’ message.
If this is a problem for you then you can contact Avid for a patch (3.5.4.3) which will resolve it. Obviously it will be sorted in the next full release.

It sounds like its better to live with the bug I currently have that do install and get new ones.
Is Avid ever going to have a working system with out bugs? Our 8 year old hardware driven Avid has never given us as much grief as this bean new one has.
