We have a HUGE drive partition on our Avid Unity. I want to partition this drive into at least 2 or 3 more partitions. We have been getting database errors and the scanning after we delete takes a couple of hours or longer.

Our engineers claim we have to completely move all media off the drive to re-partition!

I was under the assumption that we just needed to delete some media and move a slider in the Unity software to create this new partition?

    Any advice would be great:)

    Thanks.

Creating new partitions will require moving all of your media. But if you want less scan times, why not divy up the media between workspaces?

Dang. I was hoping that was not the case.

We have 3 partitions. One huge one for the media, one really small one for the projects, and one medium sized for Protools and audio!

I’m not sure where we would move the media! I guess delete as much as possible and move.

    Dang it!!

Any other advice or techniques welcome:)
