I found and installed a copy of the 2-disc “Avid Media Composer: NTSC Tutorial – Release 8.0” on my G5 (OS X 10.3.9). When I try to run the tutorial, I get a message telling me there’s no default application specified to open the document.

Is anyone here familiar with this tutorial and can you suggest an application I might be able to open it with?

    Thanks.

The tutorial isn’t a standalone application, rather it is a 20:1 media version that you need to load and play from the timeline.

Follow this link and then page 22 for installation details.

Hmmm, that link isn’t working for me. I get a message saying, “Sorry, the cow is out to pasture.”

    Mmm, M o o o!

Just had the same when I tried.

The manual you need should be in your MC kit. It’s titled Avid Media Composer and Film Composer – Getting Started Guide for Video Editing.

It may be that the site is down right now.

    Cheers,

    Richard.

Ooops, forgot to mention that the book in question is also on your CD as a PDF file.

    Cheers.
