I have been an Avid editor (self-taught) for many years. I have recently been hired by a company that has the $$ to pay for additional training and I too am interested in learning the system (adrenaline) more in-depth. Any suggestions on who out there offers the better training . . . I know there are plenty to choose from . . . just want to narrow the scope to include the most recommended facilities. I’m in the Virginia / DC area.
    Thanks
    Sue

    Good day Sue,

I’m in the DC area as well and I’ve been editing on AVID since 1993. I have taken a couple classes over at Henninger, but Future Media Concepts also offers courses.

If you have the basics down, I would recommend some of the effect courses especially anything that has to do with intraframe editing (animatte).

I hope this is of some use to you.

Thanks for the info John. Would you recommend the classes at Henninger – which did you take? Also, do you know anyone who has taken a class at Future Concepts and, if so, what did they think of the quality of the training?

    Good day Sue,

I would recommend 201(Not an effcts course, but it covers some of the better short cuts), 301, 305 & I think it is 310, but I’m not sure. It should be about Intraframe effects.

I hope this helps. Also, if you need a tutor, I am available for that as well.

    Thanks,

    John
