    Cow-ites,

I asked this on the Avid forum with no takers. Thought the XDCam people would know.

I am making film transfers to DNxHD 175 (or 1080i codec). I need to deliver XDCam 50 mxf files. I know MC 5 will read XCam files but can I transcode DNxHD 1080i to XDCam 50?

There seemed to be no options in the export menu. Any plug ins for taking Avid DNxHD to XDCam mxf?

    Thanks, Film Joe

You might be able to do this with Telestream Episode Pro which has presets to encode to XDCAM EX, HD, HD22 MXF built in.

There should be XDCAM MXF options in the transcode window.

You can also right click on the sequence–>Export to Device–>Sony XDCAM. If you don’t have an XD device mounted you have to fool the Avid into exporting to local or connected storage. It wants to see an actual XD disc. Place a folder called ‘Clip’ and a file called ‘mediapro.xml’ on the root of the drive you want to export to. If you do this the drive will show up as an option in the Export to Device dialog. Note that you can use a text file or anything else for the XML file; it does not have to be a real XML.
