So I have been trying to get a project I was given from AVID to premiere.
It’s 7 minutes long. There appears to be different types of audio in the project and I believe most of the clips are sub clips.

I tried just exporting an AAF but no luck. It either crashes Premiere or errors to import.

I have tried a workflow i found on these forums where i import the AAF back into it’s self. Put it into Resolve then exported an XML. Which almost works but I fail to get any of the audio tracks. I did make sure audio tracks were selected when exporting the AAF. I have yet to link it but that should work…

Anyone got any ideas for this i would really appreciate it,

    Kind Regards,

    Ben.

I tried it on a very simple sequence – in Avid I made sure that the AAF was set to Consolidate video and audio, to a separate folder.

    Came into Resolve 14b OK.

PP 2017.1 reported a ‘serious error’ and quit.

PP 2017.0.2 imported OK – it seems to create nested sequences to marry up OP-Atom (i.e. seperate) Video and Audio – I can see how that might cause problems if the audio has L or J cuts or is non-synchronous.

I’m pretty sure that PP and Resolve don’t handle embedded media.

No time for further investigation at the moment but will try and look into it a bit further if I get the chance.
