Does anyone know if its possible to export broadcast quality 16:9 file FROM AVID in a format that will work ON FCP 5.1?

If anyone can let me know quickly that would be HUGE!

    Thanks!

Quicktime? If you are on the same machine, you could use QT Reference….

Different machines. One a PC, one a Mac. Thanks though.

Does an Avid QT not work in FCP? The QT file will be huge, but taking into account you’d like a ‘quick’ solution, QT seems to be the best solution. As a reference, we routinely export an hour of DV quality video to QT and get 12 to 14 gig files. An hour of 16:9 video is larger (about 45gb), but definitely doable. Just make sure you have all the right buttons checked in your export settings.

    Hope this helps…
