  avid to after effects?

  hello,

  what is the best way to go from avid to after effects? ive been exporting QT reference movies from avid. when i export a QT ref movie and select “native deminsions” and then import into after effects into a 720×480 comp and then render using the avid dv codec i just get a QT movie that is a gray screen with little dots. i then tried exporting from avid a QT ref movie selecting “4:3” and then importing into after effects into a 640×480 comp and rendering using the avid dv codec and the clips appear to come out fine. the deminsions match up when importing back into avid. is this the correct way to do this? i guess if it works? i guess my question is why doesnt the avid dv codec work when i render in after effects in a 720×480 comp?

  any suggestions on what might be the best most effecient way to do this will be greatly appreciated!
