I’m trying to work out how to best use the timewarp effect and the pitch shifter effect to speed up and slow down footage (and the audio that goes with it and the music bed too!).

Is there a tutorial available to learn how to use these effects or can anybody give me a quick crash course, please?

    TIA

Thank you, Joe. I just tried the time shift steps from the tutorial, but it does absolutely nothing to the speed of the clip. I’ve sped up a shot of a guy chopping potatoes – don’t ask – and want the sound to be sped up to match, but the time shift is not working for me. Any further tips?

    Tim,

Time shifting the clip, as Bob Russo’s tutorial outlines, should get you where you want to go. How much are you speeding it up? Like Bob’s example, it you up the speed to 104%, it’s difficult to detect the change in speed. Can you experiment by exaggerating the speed-up? This should tell you whether it’s working or not…

    Thanks Joe,

    Got it working.

Found I had to add a step to Bob’s method: In the Time shift window, I had to press ENTER after typing in the new speed (300%) then hit RENDER then Hit OK

    Many thanks,

    Tim

You can match your duration numericly. Wehen you use timewarp on a video clip, just mark an in and an out on it and look at it’s duration. Then, when you apply your audio plugin(s), you can type in this duration and have no quessing games.

    Hi folks,

when using a time warp effect linearly it´s easy to mach the audio time shift. But I´m still trying to find out how to match a time shift effect to a (exponentially) changing video speed.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanx in advance,
    Klaus
