October 25, 2011 at 4:03 pmi dont think so. Best bet would be to make an ew project at the correct frame rate, and then open the bins from the other projects into thhe new one.

October 25, 2011 at 5:40 pmNeil is right. Make a project with the settings you want. And then, on the FINDER level, COPY the bins from the old project to the new one. Then open the bin in the new project. When you click on the sequence to open it, it will say “I need to change the frame rate to match the project settings.” Click OK to this. And then BOOM, the timecode changes. All the clips have green dots (if their frame rates differ from the current one). And you are good to go.

October 25, 2011 at 5:41 pmYou can’t.
You need to create a new project . You can move bins containing footage at any frame rate into that project. When that footage is placed in a timeline, a Motion Adapter will be applied to convert the footage to the project frame rate.
(in version 5.x anyway)

October 27, 2011 at 4:46 amYou are able to change the timeline settings, but it’s kinda hidden. You can right click on the timeline in the bin and choose MODIFY, then fromt he dropdown menu choose SET FORMAT and you can choose from a whole bunch of settings.
The only problem is that when you try to open that new sequence, it gives you an error saying, “The sequence frame rate does not match the project frame rate. Do you want to load a copy of this sequence that has been modified to match the project’s play rate?”
Then you get to pick “yes” or “no.”
Maybe if you start a new project and open the bin containing the new sequence, you can actually open it up but I haven’t checked that. You should be able to because otherwise it would be a pointless feature.

December 1, 2011 at 9:46 pmHi there,
We’re working on Avid MC 5.5.2, and our project is 23.976p NTSC. Our timeline timecode windows are showing 30 NDF timecode, however.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Dawn -

December 1, 2011 at 9:53 pmCould be that NTSC SD doesn’t really have a 23.98 timebase. That’s HD territory. Does the code skip frame numbers? I guessing it does.

December 1, 2011 at 10:29 pmYes, you are right. The timecode is skipping frames. I guess there is no way to force the sequence timecode to run continuously at 24fps?
Thanks!

December 1, 2011 at 10:32 pmNot really. Because NTSC is a 30 frame format. Only HD and Film can truly be 24fps.
Where did your footage come from?
