    Hi,

I’m having an issue bringing my work from Resolve back into Avid for final output.

I started by creating proxies in resolve, exporting an AAF and doing the edit in Avid. I then exported an AAF, relinked to the source files and color corrected. Three shots ended up needing to be comp’d with plates and for the sake of time we comp’d in Resolve using the editing functions.

All worked and when I finished CC’ing I exported via the Avid AAF Round Trip settings. I then exported an AAF using the Generate New AAF function in the editor. I imported the AAF and everything worked excluding the shots that we comp’d. Alpha channels were not preserved in the export.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I went wrong?

    Thanks!

Unless something has changed, Resolve is not able to output Alphas. The COmp’d shots will need to be re-rendered as target files, vs source files, with In/Out set in the Render manager.

Sorry I’m new to Resolve so I’m not quite sure I follow.

Is there a way for Resolve to export the comp’d shots as one shot?

Actually thanks, that worked. Resolve still does not export Alpha.
