I’m working on an Avid Media Composer 5 for Mac and whenever I plug in my little tiny 4 GB flash drive, the Avid creates a bin in the project with the flash drive’s name on it and includes some sort of reference media to the Quicktime movies that are on that flash drive. Is there a way I can stop the Avid from doing this? Its really annoying. Thanks in advance.

Check in your AMA settings. There’s probably something there that’s set to automatically make a new bin and populate it when AMA media is plugged in (Quicktime’s are available through AMA).

I have had couple of produces who have not been amused by this 🙂

passing me music on a stick and all their video files pop up!

You can turn the go to ama settings and change the default behaviour, but that takes the fun away.
