Hey gang just a quick question….am I correct in that AVIDproHD does not have the shortcut for “snap to” editing? I use it on our old meridien Xpress & our DS. Maybe it’s not popular enough for AVID to migrate to this software version. May be we should start a flea market where we can trade in certain shortcuts we never use for ones we need…oops that’s just the garage sailor in me!

    Thanks in advance

Avid Pro HD does have the “Snap to” option. Just go to the timeline setting menu from the Project window and select “Default Span-to-Edit” option. Hope that helps.

Hey Gene I knew it was to good to be true. Maybe I’m using the wrong words.
The “snap to” that I was refering to is the option that allows me to place my cursor on a clip on the timeline and hit my mappable button so from that point forward or behind it, is automatically deleted. It saves me keystrokes of having to put an inpoint & outpoint, and then cutting the shot out. I think AVID may be holding out on this one.

    Thnks for your time!

    Hey Pearl,

Have you tried mapping the segment mode (Red Arrow) to a button? If you select a clip with segment mode, you can lift it out of your sequence without having to set in and out points by hitting Delete. Try that. I use it all the time. Good luck.

Its called Top and Tail Edit and it does not exist on XpressPro, yet it was on Xpress Meridien. I loved it too. It may be an oversight. It is hard to keep track of what features to cripple.
