I just upgraded to AVID Xpress Pro v4.6 which comes with all sorts of fun toys. However, when I try to install my Plasma Wipes, I get the following error message:
“No installation was necessary. The files to be installed are already on your disk, or are not needed for your hardware setup.”
I received this message the very first time I tried to install. I am running on a G4, and perhaps my hardware isn’t right… Who knows?

I get this too on my powerbook. I’d love the answer if you get it. 🙂

Where do you enter the registration code to make the wipes active?

Sorry I hadn’t responded sooner, I was on vacation in Colorado White Water Rafting. As far as where I was where to put the registration code, I was asked off the installer CD. It seemed to go through the entire installation process; it even asked if I was on DV or Pro. However, once it seemd to be finished installing, it said that I don’t need them (But I do), or that they were already installed (But they weren’t). I guess I could email AVID’s tech support… Does anyone know this off hand?

    Thanks for your help

I thought I’d post my findings to help everyone else who might be having the same problems as myself. I did some searching on AVID’s website and came across this link:

I tried it, and it works. Here is the message attached.

    HI

i have the same problme as all of you .
when you try to install the Plasma Wipes the installation finish and no files are copy to your mac.

so i have install the Avid on a Pc and then install all the
    Plasma Wipes .
Then copy the folder of the Plasma Wipes from the pc to a cd_rw and move the files to my mac under the folder of the Avid and when you open the avid you have all the Plasma Wipes and all works fine.

so you don’t need a strong pc or a dongle to run the installation all you need is a pc with windows XP and after you have finish to install it copy the files to your mac in the Avid Xpress DV Pro / Supporting Files folder in this folder you need to put the PlasmaWipes folder from your pc and it will work.

after i have shrink all the Plasma Wipes in ZIP file the size is 18mb so i can’t send it to you by email but if you can’t find a pc to help you . i will try to help .

    yours

Hey all! I found the solution to the AVID Plasma Wipes not loading onto Mac Computers. I found the answer on an AVID Community Forum. I just tried it, and it works (Even though it is a round-about way of doing it).
