I did a Freeze frame at the end of a clip and wanted to push in on the Freeze Frame and Avid Pan and Zoom wants me to import a clip, it will not add the effect to the freeze frame on the timeline. So it will not import the subclip F.F. effect so I tried export the FF and then Importing and it’s letterboxed. Please help.

Well, you can use resize or a number of other tools to zoom into your FF.

But I was curious and tried it like you described. It worked OK. I exported an FF as a TIFF and used it as the target file for a P&Z applied to the FF. If it appears letterboxed on import, you probably have your “aspect ratio” and “pixel aspect settings” incorrect. Try exporting at 720×540 and importing with “maintain, square”.

avid pan and zoom is designed for simple rostrum moves on stills of a higher res, it gives avid some resolution independance, if you’re using tv res material you may aswell just use resize.
