I will be getting Avid 7 soon but for now I’ve got Avid 5.5 and I’m stuggling with pan and zoom. And, yes, I know about rendering at High Quality.

Here’s my issue: I’m working in a ntsc 4:3 project. When I look at my photo (which is on the desktop) through Pan and Zoom with the zoom slider set to 1.00 (showing the entire photo) the photo looks pixelated. However, when I zoom in to, say, over 2.0 the photo looks fine, no pixelation. Isn’t that odd? Shouldn’t I be able to see the entire photo at 1.00 without pixelation?

Also, when I change the format to 1080p the photo looks fine with the zoom at 1.00.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    John
