Can you guys tell me if any version of the MCXpress or Composer software is available for OS X with Meridien boards? right now I’ve got Xpress 5.0.2 and Composer 10.1.

Avid is the last place where OS 9 is holding our workflow back; but until Avid’s Adrenaline / Xpress Pro Mac versions are equal to their Wintel offerings a full upgrade isn’t an option. I’m sure that’s a familiar refrain from their mac-loyal customers.

    thanks,

    Peter

Version 12 of Composer is OSX ready (version 10.2.6, to be exact – no more, no less). It was a pretty painless upgrade. I did have problems with the VLAN (you can’t use it), so I hooked right into the keyspan (I used the old cables that used to come with the Medialog software – the 9 pin to control). Avid insists on a dual processor G4, but I’m running a single processor with no problems. I’d jump on the next new G4 you can find – they’re getting pretty rare….
