I am cutting a tv show at home on a mac book pro using Avid mc3. (yes 3!)
At work I am using mc 6 on a pc.
It’s been fine but there have been a few glitches which are a bit scary with deadlines looming.

My question if anyone can help is if I buy Avid Media Composer 7 (mc6 seems tricky to buy) will it be compatible with the Media Composer 6 at work.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

What version of MC6? I know that if you make a bin in MC7, it can only be opened by specific versions of prior MC versions. And don’t use things that are in MC7, but not earlier…like Frame Flex

From memory, Media Composer 6.0.4, Media Composer 6.5.4.1, Media Composer 7.0.4 play nice with Bins and therefore should play nice with AAF to some level (as stated avoid FrameFlex – or test how Media Composer 6.0.4 opens it?). Avid does have knowledge page with these details.
