Avid MC Format Issue
Hoping that a more experience MC editor might be able to help with a format issue I’m having with DSLR-original footage. I’m using MC 8.4 on a Mac Pro, and originally created a 1080p/29.97 project; AMA linked to all of my footage and then transcoded to DNxHD145. When footage is either in the source window or in a sequence, it won’t play and I get this error message: “ExceptionSFConsumer::EarlyPreSync error PreLoading spring buffer”
After reading some posts, I changed my project format to 1080i/59.94. Great, so now I can play footage and edit…however, all of my footage now have blue dots (needs rendering) instead of green, and even simple dissolves need to be rendered. I know that blue dots normally point to slow drives, but I’m using an SSD drive which is lightning fast. In addition, when I change format back to 1080p/29.97, all blue dots become green but I can’t play anything. Many thanks to one and all for any guidance!
