So what’s the procedure to get the MC Color to work with DaVinci Lite?

    I’ve done this:

    Start EuControl (newest version)
    Turn on MC Color
    Start DaVinci Lite
    Choose Admin
Under Pref/Control Panel Type/Choose Avid Artis Color
Started a project and went into “Color” tab, and started turning the wheels, but nothing happens.
The control surface doesn’t either show anything about being connected to the app. No text in the small text displays at all. Just like nothing is connected to anything.

    What to do?

Have you installed the latest 2.6 Avid panel drivers?

If you mean the Eucontrol software, then yes I did. But not any firmware, as I didn’t find any.

EuControl finds the panel. But DaVinci just seems like it doesnt “claim” the panel through EuControl.

Ok, it works now. Just needed a restart after EuControl installation.

I’ve been having the same problem. It is a bit flakey, but this is how it usually starts working.

Don’t turn on Davinci until the Eucon icon in the top corner is done it’s “spin” boot up cycle.
From here you can turn on Davinci. If the panel is not showing the proper control labels, then go into your
Eucon panel and make sure the panel is in both the left and right windows. Quite often i have to manually add it to the right side window. The last time i did this, all of the sudden my panel showed the control labels.

If it still doesn’t work, you have to go into preferences in Davinci and tell it “none” under the panel type, relaunce davinci, go into preferences, tell it MC Color under the panel type, and relaunce again. Sometimes it seems to need a kick in the ass.

If it still doesn’t work, you can try going preferences, Single click on the Eucon icon to call up the services page, and do a manual stop and start of the service….then go back to step 1.

It’s a pain I know. I’ve had it work after 5 seconds, and sometimes it seems to take 5 minutes.

I guess score 1 for the wave…usb just works.

I know this has been awhile, but I just wanted to thank you for this generously thorough reply, straightening-out the Avid MC Color/Davinci protocol. I was going nuts …

    Thanks a lot!
