Best to have TWO partitions for either system. As the OS and requirements for both can differ. Currently they are the same (well, MC5 requires Snow Leopard while FCP 7 can run on leopard), but they might change in the future.
Issue with the workflow? When you access footage via AMA, like you would if you captured ProRes via the Kona, and work with this footage without transcoding…you cannot output an AAF or OMF for audio. That only works with Avid native media. So if you want to capture with FCP, edit in Avid, then go back to COLOR for grading, you can’t do it…not without converting a couple times. Transcoding ProRes to DNxHD, then back to ProRes.
