Avid MC 6 with OSX 10.9

Have a new iMac with Maverick 10.9. Installed Avid MC 6 and my effects pallette goes missing, and I can’t close windows. I’ve heard it’s buggy with the new OSX. I uninstalled, and tried reinstalling but it won’t allow to reinstall – says to contact system admin. Then I notice that Avid is loaded, but the same problems occur. Then I try another uninstall and it says “null” and shows no Avid files/folders.

Confused. Please help. Thanks

Thanks. But what is the 6.5.4.1 patch?

Would it make more sense to just upgrade to 7?

I just started using Avid MC 7.0.3 with MAC Laptop, Mavericks, limited use so far but I have not noticed any issues. Based on my experience with 7 I would not go back to 6, so yes, I would upgrade.
