Hey all… Its been a while since I was on these forums, and I’ve just gotten the trial of MC 4 off the website. The message said it would be fully featured, so I don’t think that is my issue.

I’m trying to import P2 clips from a project I just shot. The video plays fine and functions perfectly, but there is no audio! I don’t understand how this could suddenly be a problem for me, since this same computer was importing P2 files to Avid 2.8 on Windows XP x32 just a few weeks ago. I’m on Windows 7 x64 now. Are there any drivers or utilities I need to get my P2 audio working? No hardware changes have been made to my computer between the MC 2.8 on WinXP 32 and the current MC 4.03 on Win7 64. Also, any P2 media already imported/consolidated in XP still work perfectly on this new OS.

    Any ideas?

Also, I use onboard sound (no sound card… I know I know…) but it has never been an issue in XP with MC 2.8!

Are the P2 files in their original file structure? The Contents folder with 6 sub folders? I am running 4.0.3 (demo version too) and it imports them all fine for me.

But I am on a Mac…would that make a difference? DOES THIS PROVE THAT MACS ARE BETTER!

    No…just saying..

the P2 files are in the correct hierarchy. I have this problem regardless of whether or not I’m importing directly from a card or from the contents folder copied to my hard drive.

For now I’ve gotten around the problem by booting back to XP (thank God I set up a dual boot…), importing the P2 stuff, and then consolidating it so that Win7 will simply look at the Avid Media Files folder instead.

If anybody has any other tips though, it would be very helpful, as restarting my computer every time I want to ingest footage is rather annoying.
